The cycle club was formed in February 2018 and at that time the goal was to recruit leaners of Groenvlei High who were interested in cycling and who are dedicated to whatever comes their way. The executive body is made up of our chairperson Delano Timm, secretary lukmaan Du-Toit, Vice chairperson Ashton Bloys and a treasurer Keenan Jackson. Their main objective is to become better cyclists. The GVHS cycling team trains regularly because of the upcoming Cape Town Argus cycling Bour. The maximum number of cyclists that can enter are 20 and we currently have 25 cyclists. This makes it a difficult task for our chairperson as he selects the group. The race will be 150km right around the Cape Peninsula. The excutives of the club are preparing the tea, to become physically and mentally fit for the cycling tour. Mr.G.A Hendrickse is the master-mind behind this operation, he makes sure the cyclists get their cycling kits, bicycles and all the other equipment needed for the cycling tour.
